Egality
I, too, am America. ~Langston Hughes
Egality is a personal response to the current state of affairs in the United States of America - a stalwart reach for hope as well as a demand for justice in the face of brutality and division. It is a declaration of independence, a reminder of our highest aspirations, and a cry for freedom with liberty and justice for all.
These emotions imbue it’s rich surface and layered texture. They inform the dynamic interplay of line, and the bold use of the palette knife. The vibrant yet harmonious color marks the interplay between spontaneity and structure, between bold expression and quiet strength. Egality suggests both action and reflection. It is a work of contrasts, inviting close inspection as well as thoughtful contemplation.
