Golden Double Bowl
I carefully composed a “scrap melt” of lovely yellows and purples. It came out of the kiln with a tiny crack in the bottom. I dithered about for a few days, unwilling to scrap it and uncertain how to truly fix it. I could patch it, but it was too beautiful for anything other than a truly flawless fix.
Then it occurred to me that I could make a complementary bowl, slightly smaller, then nest the two together, using the kiln and heat work to bond them while healing the original crack. All kinds of things could have gone wrong, but everything fell into place as if charmed. A stunner!
