Heading Towards Eternity

Heading Towards Eternity is a visual hymn inspired by the Emmylou Harris song, The Pearl. Painted during a period of grief, the music’s soaring melody and searching lyrics became a companion in the studio. The work is both a tribute to a loved one gone and a meditation—a bold, energetic depiction of the journey we all must eventually take.

Celebrating a flight into freedom, a joyful letting go into the unknown, the painting pulses with color and motion and a sense of release. It invites viewers to feel the promise of transcendence and the grace of moving forward with courage and hope.
Original art by artist Wanda Oliver executed in oil paint and cold wax medium on cradled board, 20x24x1.5".

The cradled board is wired and ready to hang. It is designed to accommodate a floating frame, but no frame is necessary.
