Kaleidoscope

As a child I coveted a kaleidoscope.  I found them endlessly fascinating. As fate would have it, my parents and grandparents never thought of giving me one.  And I'm not sure I ever asked for one.  Perhaps I found them too magical to imagine actually owning one.

Swirling color and bold, energetic marks emerged early in the work, and built steadily as the layers developed.  A sense of kaleidoscopic action emerged and thus the title was born. While the piece may not mimic the precise geometry of its namesake, it pulses with the same energetic vitality and bright, moving colors.

Kaleidoscope invites you to sense its kinetic spirit, allowing it to kindle your own - to touch your heart and put your own spirit in motion.

Original abstract art by artist Wanda Oliver done in oil paint and cold wax medium on cradled board, 24x30x1.5".  

The cradled board is wired and ready to hang.  It is designed to accommodate a floating frame, but no frame is necessary.
