Collaborative Collagraph

This piece was created for the Bonham Creative Arts Center's monthly exhibition themed Black and White. The term, black and white, made me think of printing Collaborative Collagraph was born. The collagraph is composed of individual bits and pieces, mounted on cardboard, with magnets glued to the back, and placed on both sides of a magnetized rolling white board. Visitors to the exhibit were encouraged to move, add, and subtract bits to create an ever changing work of art.
The work led to me building some sort of collaborative work for each monthly show. These works are especially popular with the children - typically told to keep their hands off the works of art, they are free to play with these to their heart's content. The adults find the interactive, collaborative works a treat as well. They have become a tradition.
