Portents

On November 11, 2025, I stood in my back yard in Northeast Texas and watched as the Northern Lights lit the sky, an experience I never expected to have. It was awe inspiring in the truest sense of the word. The Portents triptych is my visceral reaction to the experience of a lifetime.
Of course, I knew what I was looking at - there had been website updates, weather reports, and social media posts anticipating the event. Even so, it was breathtaking and slightly unsettling to have my accepted reality shattered by a night sky suddenly an odd color. I couldn't help but wonder how an ancestor of long ago would have reacted and what significance they would have attached to it all.
