Symphony

In June, 2025, my experiments into oil and cold wax medium bloomed fully into a love affair with a new medium. The buttery material and the sumptuous, satiny surfaces had become a balm to my soul. Symphony was the first full scale work in the medium that was soon to dominate my work, and it sold immediately to one of my most ardent collectors. That validation may not have been strictly necessary to cement my direction, but it certainly didn't hurt.

The title springs from the fact that I felt my being sing as I worked on this one. The medium encourages me to be bold and free with my marks as I add and subtract paint, building history and adding nuance.

16x20", oil and cold wax medium on cradled board, June, 2025.

Sold.
